Reborn as Bael leaf


Frosty breeze ripples the hallow waters of Mansarovar,  
Where time unbound, amid hypnotic nights,
When stars drop down to cleanse in its mystic folds,
Vagrant clouds grazing snow-crowned peaks,                                
Amidst Mount Kailash, shine aglow in radiant gold.

Epitome of remote simplicity, the abode of the Ascetic Dweller,
In yogic posture, smeared with holy ashes,
His form clad in tiger skin,
Matted locks graced with the heavenly Ganges and Crescent Moon,
Garland of rudraksha and coiled serpent deck His blue neck,
Formless, Limitless, Adiyogi, the only Universal Soul.


Bowing down before your Radiance, Mahadev,
Lift me from the abyss of darkness.
I sink forever into fathomless agony,
Breathe into me and tranquillize my spirit.
To be born as a Bael leaf,
Adorning Your Lotus Feet time memorable.

Melting before your Luminous Spirit, Mahadev,
Flames of arrogance and pride wither away.
Mahadev, eternal creator and destroyer,
Who sustains and devours.
Uplift this forlorn child of Yours.
To be reborn as a Bael leaf, adorning your Lotus Feet.

Transformation Within

   I think it happened in the month of June, something that transformed totally from what I was to what I am now. The days were cold due to heavy downpour for days, even though sunrays at times peeps out from the grey dark clouds during mid-morning hours. One day as usual on finding that there is time yet to start my online classes, I tried to get little more sleep, delving deep into the soft warm blanket. I don’t remember exactly I had slipped into sleep or not, suddenly I heard a very disturbing shrill of a small bird, continuously breaking the light rhythmic sound of the raindrops and the slight breeze coming through my open window.
